TEMPUS · TRADITIONAL PLANETARY HOURS

Choose a time, preserve the method

Divide daylight into twelve intervals and the following night into twelve more. The Chaldean sequence continues across both, starting with the local sunrise date’s weekday ruler.

Enter actual solar event times with UTC offsets. These inputs determine the entire result; the calculator does not fetch your location or astronomical events.

Method & limits

The seven rulers repeat Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Moon, rotated to the weekday ruler at sunrise. Unequal day and night durations produce unequal hours. Solar times are supplied by you; polar days lacking sunrise or sunset are unsupported. Output timestamps are UTC.

This is a traditional timing convention. Interpretations of a planet’s suitability need their own source.
